Gustav Mahler's contemporaries and Enrique Granados were the protagonists.
Two young artists were responsible for bringing the music of Mahler and Granados Municipal Museum, within the program of performers on the road. The mezzo-soprano Pilar Vazquez, along with Elisa Rapado the piano, composing a duet very young, yet with a great musical background. Have worked with directors like Paul or Joseph Victor Pons, and participated in several international courses. Now they have formed this duo with which these two authors approach the public, and encourage the knowledge of this art to children.
The program consisted of a concert-dialogue between Grant and Mahler (the latter is currently celebrating the centenary of his death), and the choice of authors is due to certain similarities between the composers, despite their geographic distance. Were contemporaries, and tried in their poetic inspirations compositions in which shared many literary motifs. Thus, the code can be compared for example, "the nice shy" of Granados was joking with the clash of characters, a story like that relates Trost im Unglück Mahler, in which two young lovers, the warrior Hussar and his fiancée, played to challenge each other, feigning disinterest did not really feel.
During the concert, the performers made brief comments to introduce the blocks, explaining especially the part devoted to Mahler given the difficulty of the German language. Both authors were inspired by the work of contemporary poets, as were Rückert and Periquet, addressing different social issue, but agreed on issues like love and death, core of this concert, with different stories that awaits his beloved soldier who receives a premature death. After all that remains is the memory of the beloved, and the good times with him. This ability to move the audience is perhaps the most obvious similarity between the forms of poetry have Mahler and Granados. This duo has three concerts scheduled for this early, which have already visited Palencia, Alcazar de San Juan, and this week will act in Seville.
